Our History
Founded in 1985 as P&I correspondents shortly after the liquidation of “Irish Shipping Limited”, the national shipping line.
We specialise in claims handling and are proficient in dealing with complex marine issues. We have a proven track record in the defence of legal maritime claims in this jurisdiction. Our company is represented in the Irish Maritime Law Association (IMLA) by our Managing Director and we have been involved in the IMLA since 1985.
The IMLA were instrumental in the introduction of “The Merchant Shipping (Liability of Shipowners and Others) Act” 1996 which incorporated the Hague Visby Rules, The Limitation of Liability Convention 1976 and the Athens Convention 1974 in to Irish domestic law. This Act commenced in full on the 6th of February 1997.
We are also members of the Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers.
